Portraits of the Past: The Bockie Family
I am so pleased to announce that I am finally working on my family history book. It will be a look back at 7 generations from my mother's side of the family from Niagara Falls, New York. I've been working on it now for about 3 weeks, 10-12 hour days -- working on it long distance with my 90 yr. old great aunt who is absolutely amazing. She's pulled all the info together (3,000 pages of documentation and 5,000+ photos) and I'm just putting the puzzle together. Not only has she been the family historian all these years but she has documented Niagara Falls in its heyday. So my family history book will be mixed with sidebars of the daredevils and history of the falls plus world events such as the Great Depression and World War I and II. I'm making progress everyday and beginning to drop in my text. Above is my dedication page to my great-aunt as well as my family tree below.
